Intelligence VS Power

Intelligence is the ability to comprehend; to understand and profit from experience and power is possession of controlling influence. Now which one is better? Lust for power blinded both Voldemort and Grindelwand. Voldemort the antagonist of the story didn't have such a happy life. When Voldemort was young all of his hope was gone and to him all that waited for him was a black pit of despair. Tom Riddle Sr. abandoned Mereope Gaunt during her pregnancy. Voldemort was raised in an orphange. No friends, no family, and no hope. Dumbledore finds out that Tom Riddle is a wizard and arranges a seat for him in Hogwarts. Tom Riddle lust for power and immortality began after murdering his family who abandoned him. Voldemort got a chance to be number one and unleash hatred on everyone so they can feel what he went through.
Grindewald attended the wizarding school Durmstrang and got expelled at the age of 16 for his dangerous experiments. Seeking to be supreme he  learned about the Peverell brothers and how they obtained the greatest power. Grindewald becomes close friends with Dumbledore as they both strive for power. They planned a quest to obtain the hallows and use it to make a better world where wizards ruled the muggles. Dumbledor's younger brother disagrees with these plans and engages a three way fight and one of them killed Arrianna Dumbledore's sister. Lust for power blinded Dumbledore there friendship ended.
Dumbledore searched for the hallows for good not for him but for his sister. Dumbledore knowing that he made many mistakes in his life knew that guiding Harry Potter and clouding his mind with facts would make Harry the master of death. Dumbledore was trying to make Harry perfect. Harry's lust for knowledge and having great amounts of love kept power away.

  1. I agree that Voldemort had a lust for power and Harry had a lust for knowledge. Those were the things that kept Voldemort and Harry really apart from each other. Maybe Voldemort woudn't have had a lust for power if he had love like Harry did. Harry had friends that kept him on the right track.
