The Separate Peace

Jealousy? Jealousy is something we can all feel. Jealousy is usually hidden deep in the depths of our heart and is nasty when released. Showing your jealousy to the world can make you look bad. It doesn't matter whether your a kid or an adult. The jealousy Gene has about Finny his best friend end there relationship. Would you like to end up with no best friend like Gene?

In the book The Separate Peace by John Knowles the main character Gene, and Finny both live in  Devon Highschool during World War 2. Gene is an excellent student with straight A's while Finny is very athletic. As you read the story you find out Gene is jealous of his best friend Finny. Gene does something astonishing to his best friend Finny which almost could have cost Finny his life. Gene couldn't control his anger and rage he let it out on his best friend thus ending the relationship.

Gene can be classified as a top student his goal is to be a valedictorian. Gene is smart and shy. He mostly kept his feelings on the inside until he couldn't control them. Gene is also very friendly.

Finny can be classified as a very athletic person. Finny broke a school record that hasn't been broken for 10 years. He is also a daredevil and very reckless. Finny likes action. Finny makes Gene do a dangerous jump of a tree and he also does it to.

Jealousy is something we can all feel. I used to be jealous of my friends and I wish I was more like them I also wish I had the same stuff as them. Jealousy can change your personality. When I was jealous I was also very sour and I said mean things which I regret. I learned that jealousy isn't an option for me in life. Jealousy doesnt make you a better person  and it certainly does not fix anything.
